Honeymoon - Part 4 (Willemstad, Curacao)

Curacao is such  a beautiful island! Dave and I agreed that this is a place we would come back to for a vacation someday. The town of Willemstad is so quaint and colorful!

We an did excursion out to some caves outside the city. Neat fact: the caves go under the water and connect to Venezuela! You can't walk them because they are filled with water but I still think that is so interesting! Curacao is very desert like....there are tons of cactus and iguanas roam everywhere!

After exploring the caves we took the bus back to town and did a walking tour. Our guide explained that because of the desert soil, they can't grow much of anything on the island so a floating farmer's market docks each day to sell their items grown on other islands or South America.
A jewish synagogue that is still in use. I think it is beautiful against the bright blue sky!
After the tour we had lunch on the water then walked back to the ship. To get to the ship you have to walk over a floating bridge. If a ship has to come through, they just swing the bridge to the side to make room.
We loved Curacao and can't wait to go back some day!
